Tbilisi Sea Winter
Many people don’t realise that Tbilisi Sea is actually a man-made reservoir constructed in the early 1960s to supply water for the growing city and also provide a safe-landing space in the event of any aeroplanes getting into difficulty near Tbilisi Airport, fortunately this still hasn’t happened. At the Varketili end of the Reservoir there is a control tower which must’ve been constructed to control the first water-management systems - but I don’t think it serves this purpose any more. At the end of a cold snap the weather started to change rapidly and I saw this magical light over the lake - sadly there was nowhere safe to stop so I had to drive on, stop and trudge back through the muddy slush to get this shot - I think it was worth it.
